Alright everyone, here's the last of the individual part sketches for Jiragon. These are the torsos for each mode. With the exception of Aquatic Mode and Blitz Mode, all of these have a retrosaur type stance so they are slightly upright with a sloped spine.

1. Normal
Jiragon's basic body. Jiragon has three membrane like energy pits on each side of his body. These have a variety of functions. The usual spines are also here too.

2. Defense Mode
This one has the spiky armor and has the belly and groin guarded by plates as well. Kentrosaurus spines on the hips and shoulders reduce the chance of getting flanked in close quarters and the membranes take the shape of viscious blades jutting from his back.

3. Aquatic Mode
The turtle aspect of Aquatic Mode is reinforced in the body as Jiragon has a custom shell. This provides a solid core for ramming or side tackles. The membrane pits have become tentacles but unlike the ones on the face, these ones are more like super jellyfish tentacles and administer a poison on touch. They also make good grappling devices on anything trying to attack from behind or the sides.

4. Blade Mode
The major feature here are the Membrane pits again. Here they have fused together to create very large cleaver like blades that can be used for a variety of cutting methods. The shoulder and hips have forward jutting blades that make closing with him rather dangerous.

5. Blitz Mode
The speedier form of Jiragon has a lot of room for the massive legs and straightens the spine. He has blades on his shoulders and hips that face outward so he can strafe his enemies literally to pieces. The membrane pits extend into thruster vents which blast his organic energy in bursts or long streams to increase his speed even further.

6. Sniper Mode
People may have wondered what other differences aside from the eye membranes does Sniper Mode have. I decided to give Jiragon some organic ranged weaponry in this mode in the form of quills. Basically the memrane pits temporarily fuse together on each side to form quarrels of these regenerating quills. Jiragon can arch himself low to the ground and forcefully project a massive volley or single fire shots of these quills at great speed and distances. His eye membranes enhance his vision which also increases his accuracy.

I will make a the first full drawing of Jiragon next.

I like how you changed the position of the membranes, there a lot more useful in J's transformation's now :)

For Jiragon's stance: he doesn't have a simple retrosaur stance, he can switch between a horizontal, theropod stance and a vertical, humanoid stance. Maybe when you do the full body sketch, you can make one sketch of him vertical and one of him horizontal.

As for Jiragon's build, I suggest making him somewhat more humanoid, perhaps you can look at the EVA's and the Guyver for inspiration.

I really have to give you props here. You're taking one of the most overused concepts and turning it into something spectacular.
I particularly like the sniper mode. The projectile quills really add some nice flare to it.

The blitz mode is admittedly interesting too. It fits into its established niche quite nicely. It follows the archetype, but it looks functional, which is something those types tend to have trouble with.

One thought though: Wouldn't it be a better idea to do these design studies with the full body? The individual appendages and how they fit together can often create a dramatically different image.

Getting to that trust me. I wanted to take the really slllooooow road with designing Jiragon as I've learned that Gareku can and will suddenly change his mind about how something looks. It really irked me when I had flat out drawn the final lines for Gareku, followed the instructions to the best of my ability, and he still wanted me to add things to it. The super long finger claw and thumbspike and yes the chin whiskers too.

Doing the individual parts one study at a time allows him a sort of grace period to figure out how he wants it to look and if his instructions really look like he imagined they would. He liked the new aquatic parts so I'll be using those (thank god). Anyway, the full body 'normal' Jiragon should come pretty soon.

Hrmmmm...that makes it a tad interesting lol. Alright, more humaniod build it is then. I was wondering how I was coming to show added muscle aside from the limbs with Blade Mode.

As how I'll present them, there are plenty of changes to see him in variety of poses once I start doing the various full body drawings of him and his various modes. I'm kinda wondering how his neck connects to his body though. When he's upright does it still snake forward like that or is it held high?
