Ogra,Gorgo Sketch Study

This past week I must have gone insane, because I went ahead and did something ludicrous with this sketch study. Instead of narrowing my choices down to around four or so as per usual, I decided to double that number and add eight different designs from which to choose from. Its amazing because you wouldn't think that Gorgo or Ogra would be that popular. They come in all shapes and sizes so there certainly is quite a number to choose from in terms of traits for a Hybrid this time around.

Sea Mother Ogra: By keizerghidorah
This design is the mostly pebbly of the bunch, it has warty sections in various places all over its body, not too overly uniform about it either. The ears seem more like spines or a pair of crests as they are more a part of the back texture than the head, The head has overlapping sharp scales on the snout and brow. The eye is white with a red pupil, no iris. Teeth are large and spaced apart with spined dewlap on the throat. Body is very thick and ponderous, seems to have thin ankles though. Tail is very thick and rather short with a small number of spines on the end. Three digits on each limb. The colors of the body are green mixed with dark green warty armor and a dull white belly.

The original kaiju of this group. A tall glowering creature with blood red eyes, black skin, and a deep tannish cream belly. Has lots of needle like teeth, especially in the front of the mouth. Snout is short and round, the brows are large and furrowed. The ears are square shaped but angled so that from the front they seem like horns. Skin is heavily warted, scaled, and textured to the point the creature almost appears crocadilian. Arms are held like a kanagroo's and have massive bear like claws. It has four digits on each claw, three talons and one thumb appendage. Neck is very thick and rather moderate in length. body overall is somewhat like the first Godzilla. Toe claws are splayed widely apart and the tail is rather short but still usable as a blunt weapon.

A more saurian remake of the Showa it seems. Dull grey limbs and face with pure black warty armor down its back and tail. The belly is more of a desert tan. Eyes are completely red sans iris. Muzzle large and rounded with scaled plates and an armored ridge running up it and past the brows. Brows are very large and spiked. Eyes are deep set and the jaws have descrernable lips. Chin is pointed. The ears are 'U' shaped and angled straight off the brows and lower edge of the upper jaw. Has a slight 'W' shape to the fin inside the ear. Neck is thick and banded with the tanish throat have a trichambered look to it. Shoulders have slight bits of the back armor dotted around the joints. Forearms have sharp edges on the undersides. The claws are like the Showa's but smaller with much smaller claws. Rest of the body is believed to be much like the Showa save for slightly digitigrade legs. Has a gator hide like chest.

Frog Foot Ogra by: Crocazil
Uniformly grey in color, save for the red eyes lined with black. Body is dromesaur like with a short slender tail and comparably thin, fully digitigrade limbs. Hand and foot claws are massive with long digits, long claws, and webbing. Belly appears to be scaled in small diamond formation. Rest of hide has massive armor like warts. Brows are squarish. The ear is squarish and tiny, flat against the head. Neck appears to have a sort of clift or 'adams apple'.

Navy blue with a sky blue to white belly. Yellow claws and pink webbing on the ears. Tyrannosaur like head with horned brows. Razor spines down neck and back. Gator like tail that seems to equal Godzilla's in length. Long arms with three large claws. Indication of pelvic bone and wiry digitigrade legs suggestion moderate case of raptorization. Retrosaur stance and a long tongue. Ankle joints are ridged. Feet are massive and bird toed. Red eye is present but hard to spot. Forearms are ridged on the underside.

Appears to be very much like an updated Showa. Hide is still scaled and bumpy but not to the same extreme. Belly is very smooth and a tannish white. Hide is completely green. Talons are bone colored. Ears are triangular and fan shaped. Has a row of triangular spines running down neck, three such rows in between the brows. Godzilla size nostrils. Massive bear claws present with extra muslce definition in the arms.

WOG Ogra by: The-Great-MM
Took minor artistic liberties but appears to be rather smooth hide wise. Heavily muscled with three stout claws on each hand. Snout is rounded, the brow has a small horn near each end and the ear fins are massive and triangular. Skin is a greenish grey, the belly is dark green with gator like armor running down the entirety. Legs are large and stout, the foot claws armored. Tail is of average length, capable of whipping and bludgeoning. Tail is thick and meaty. Seems to be either completley upright or slightly retrosaur in stance. Yellow eyes, deep grey claws.

Has an 'upright' retrosaur stance. Widely splayed feet claws. Four digits on feet, three on hands. Legs are plantigrade, arms are digitigrade/ bear. Shoulders have armored schutes. Back has spined ridges, neck has smaller ridges. Ear fins are large and splayed out, four sections to each ear. Head is allosaur in nature with an overbite. Big brows, beady black eyes. Colors are grey with blue grey spots up and down its body, belly is a rust like brown. Has a fin like edge to its moderatly sized paddle like tail.

Gator Ogra by: Ashere
Massive gator like head mixed with tyrannosaur. Thick, powerful, armor ridged neck. Ear fins are more like horns. Small eyes. Digitigrade crossed with plantigrade legs, seemingly capable of being both at the same time. Thick, barrel like body, massive chest with therapod hips. Big claws and feet. Extremely long and armored ridged tail. Tail seems to turn a deep black a fourth of the way down. Could be considered some kind of bizzare raptorized retrosaur. Design brings confusion and is hard to catergorize.

So that leaves us on what to piece the Hybrid together with. Personally I feel Ogra/Gorgo is combination of newt, classic therapod kaiju, and bear. I'd primarily stick with the classic colors as green just feels wrong to me when concerning Ogra. A little saurian nature in the head, like the Neo would be alright. I'd like the ear fins to be pointed but not too large or small. Claws I'd like to keep big and massivley powerful, its one of her defining traits, webbed or not. Her size and raw girth is another element thats a part of her as well so she's a lot like Godzilla in that regard. The retrosaur stance would be as far as she'd be able to go and even that might be too much. Tail wise, she's rather short but thick and paddle like. Gator Orga freaks me out with the sheer length of that tail, its like some Vertigo got mixed in there along with a T-Rex and a bull crocadile. Pure red eyes are essential, thats another trait of hers. Teeth would be plentiful but not needlessly so, I'd imagine something good for catching sea life. Armor can range from semi warty to gator armor, I don't know nor particularly care as the original was a mess in that regard. She was bumpy in general. Anyway, time for feedback. Ideas for the SD's humor are also appreciated.
