The Hare

Among those who participated in the Great Trials, The Hare was perhaps one of the most unorthodox. Preferring to taunt over running and running over fighting, The Hare was a roving trickster that got by on the foolishness of others. It wasn't until his paths crossed with The Pale One that The Hare found someone who recognized his potential as both a companion and combatant. The Hare had the power to manipulate gravitational fields, allowing him to enhance his physical abilities beyond what his smaller stature compared to other competitors suggested. Being an earnest, cunning yet simple being The Hare could only exert gravity in a personalized form, the finer points going over his head. The Hare's last and greatest challenge was The Phoenix who came to eliminate the threat The Pale One represented to him and his power. The Hare stood between The King of Birds and The Pale One and made the ultimate sacrifice in stalling the fiery raptor till dusk when his power would finally wane. The Hare, despite mortal wounds achieved what few ground bound creatures could: to bring The Phoenix to earth. The Pale One would respect The Hare's last wishes to be absorbed by her, becoming Lunami. The Hare now lives on in the Lunar Oracle and his dream to one day reach the Moon has never been forgotten, his power over gravity likewise passed on to her.

*As with many of those during the Great Trials The Hare did not live long enough to acquire a name. If he had however, it is likely that he would be called 'Inaba'. His surviving kindred use this name when referring to him
