Description

Monklyonyx, the Obsidian Templar
With all the massive and powerful creatures, as well as the many families and faculty members often wondering the grounds of Eden02, an equally powerful force of order was needed to quell any potential disturbance before it raged out of control. The staff and faculty of all the various departments were deathly afraid of what happened to Eden01 happening to them. Invictathrone was more than capable of routing most of the major issues with little assistance but he wasn’t always the best solution for the smaller subjects and despite his great power and near invulnerability he was only one kaiju. Judatitan was far too large to access some of the more remote parts of the facility where the staff lived and Cherubix was known for switching between following procedure to the letter and dealing with situations with perverse whim at the drop of a hat. Exorciva was well suited for dealing with most domestic issues that arose but aside from the Internal Affairs and Genetics departments, the powerful psychic alienated many of the other faculty members and their families with her mind speech. As for Confessoroc…not only was he extremely large but his eccentric nature created many humiliating results. Though said results were very successful, the PR groups were enraged at the bizarre behavior that criminals and wayward subjects would engage in after Confessoroc and his family had given them one of his notorious ‘sermons’. So Confessoroc was regulated to more observatory functions which suited him just fine as it meant his family was in less danger than they were engaging the criminal element directly. As for Seraphodon, the staff was just happy he was too stoned out of his mind half the time to eat them and paint the walls red with a hail of their entrails. He was best left alone until he was needed.

Thankfully Father Fang had thought ahead before Invictathrone had been recovered and one of the earlier subjects to be designed was to fill in the roll of law enforcement. Of all the various species in the Savage Chasm, the ankylosaurus and its relatives that still lived in the chasm were the best suited to the life of guardian, guard, and general crowd control. Aggressive yet not predatory, tougher than nails yet not titanic, intelligent yet simple and trainable, the best part about an ankylosaurus and its brethren were that it didn’t consume meat so the faculty had no fear of them being eaten at the very least. A luxury they didn’t have with Cherubix’s choiraptors now lurking in the shadows, waiting for an excuse to rip and tear any ‘blasphemers’ from their ranks. Combining several strains of the species to create a creature that had strength, armor, and endurance to spare, the Genetics department set about their task of creating ‘a kaiju police officer’ the staff joked. Soon enough a mutant ankylosaurus hatched and the staff began to look over the infant dinosaur. The creature was a light grey with some faint cobalt specks highlighting the various armor like knobs along the infant’s body, a coloration that the staff thought would develop into something more dramatic as the infant aged. Unfortunately, despite the obvious effects of the kaiju growth serum, the ankylosaurus grew slowly compared to the subjects that came later. This slightly infuriated the Genetics department but the Anima Major department promised they would see if they could bring out the creature’s potential soon enough without aggravating the already rather pensive hatchling. While the other mutants grew by leaps and bounds (in Judatitan’s case stories), the ankylosaurus mutant took a more natural growth pattern and developed a strong bond with several of the faculty members from various departments. Going from trotting alongside them like a puppy, to carrying them like an reptilian ox, to eventually gazing down at them from gradually kaijuistic height was an endearing experience for much of the staff.

Invictathrone took notice of the growing ankylosaurus and the cyboric sentinel took the fledgling kaiju under his wing. Whether it was because it was part of his programming or whether it was an organic component the titan still possessed was anyone’s guess. What was known was the cyborg began teaching the young kaiju how to defend himself and various aspects of his duty within Heavenly Fang. The various lessons seemed to be who was friend and who was foe and most importantly when. Somehow Invictathrone was converting the lessons into a language the young ankylosaurus understood and slowly but surely the young kaiju began to progress and grow quite powerful for his still increasing size. Eventually, once the ‘apprentice’ had grown at least half as tall as Invictathrone himself, the cyboric titan began taking him on his various patrols throughout the facility. During one of these such patrols, a particularly angry Tyrannodaemon -a experimental shock trooper beast the arms department had been given the go ahead to make a few of- had broken out of his cell and was rampaging toward the residential areas. It had gotten too close to the residential area to use a missile battery and it was too large and powerful for infantry and Heavenly Fang personnel to take down. So it fell once again to Invictathrone to subdue or kill if necessary, his apprentice running behind him trying to keep up. The Tyrannodaemon was far more cunning than its insane appearance led one to believe and it began hedging in a family of four, making snapping threats in their direction when the Arms department tried to close on him. Invictathrone snorted in the tyrannosaurus mutant’s direction to get its attention and let out a partly mechanical bellow to let the ruthless hunter know that he was surrounded. The Tyrannodaemon simply gurgled something akin to a chuckle through all the froth dripping from his jaws and swiped his tail once, taking a large chunk of the family’s roof off. The Arms department immediately back away a couple feet and Invictathrone stomped the earth but remained where he stood. As the standoff continued, the apprentice began looking back and forth between the crying family, the Tyrannodaemon and his mentor. Eventually something clicked. The apprentice began to slowly approach the menacing hunter and stopped a couple dozen feet away from the house. The Tyrannodaemon looked at the ankylosaurus with an expression similar to that of a mad dog that was debating with itself between drips of drool. It snapped warningly at the family again and crushed their car beneath its clawed foot to emphasize its point yet kept its attention on the ankylosaurus. The apprentice grunted nonchalantly at the Tyrannodaemon and proceeded to lie on his side in apparent boredom, his softer looking belly plainly visible. This caused both Invictathrone and the Tyrannodaemon to peer at the young kaiju like it was insane. Invictathrone honked a warning to his apprentice, fearing for the young kaiju’s life should the Tyrannodaemon decide to strike. The Tyrannodaemon on the other hand couldn’t believe the most vulnerable and juicy part on a herbivore’s body was practically being hung in his face like an offering and he hadn’t even had to flip him over himself. The tension was so thick even the Arms department dared not breathe as a scene as primeval as nature itself seemed to be playing out. Was the apprentice sacrificing himself to save the family? Was it a ruse to get the viscous Tyrannosaur to leave the cover of the house? Was it all just an attempt to challenge the rampaging beast to a battle? They soon had their answer as the Tyrannodaemon took one last hesitant look at the puny monkeys that he was holding hostage and decided something bigger was on the menu as he charged straight for the apprentice’s open belly with eyes full of fury and bloodlust.

Time seemed to stand still even as Invictathrone and the Arms department closed in. The sensation ended when a bone shattering crack echoed throughout the area. Sprawled head over tail on the ground, the Tyrannodaemon snarled with rage and pain as a large bleeding dent in his nasal cavities tried to haphazardly pull itself back together. Over the years, the apprentice had grown armor like much of his ancestors and even though it hadn’t fully developed, it was well on its way. His tail was much longer than any ankylosaurus before him and the mace, like his armor, had a crystal like appearance to it that resembled sheared rock. Heavy and jagged like a morning star, the club had whipped with lightning speed from behind the young kaiju and caught the frothing Tyrannosaur across the face just as he closed in. Invictathrone had stepped in between the Tyrannodaemon and the house with the Arms department cutting off any escape into the rest of the residential districts, now he had nowhere run that would safe from either the Arms department or a creature more powerful than himself. Whipping his bleeding skull side to side desperately, the humiliated hunter saw only one path of escape and it happened to be blocked by the now standing ankylosaurus; a grim look of retribution etched on his armored face. Throwing caution to the wind the Tyrannodaemon rushed the young kaiju head on and the two battled in earnest. With nothing to lose, the Tyrannodaemon bit and clawed at anything he could grab even as he lost blood and teeth for his trouble. The apprentice gritted his molars as the massive predator attempted to tear him to pieces even as he was beating him to a bloody pulp at the same time with his mace. The Tyrannodaemon finally caught a break when the ankylosaurus’s mace didn’t retract in time and he was able to snatch it in his jaws. The slightly larger predator took advantage of his opportunity by swinging the young kaiju off his feet into a retention pond. As the ankylosaurus tried to get back up, he found himself rolling end over end as the Tyrannodaemon used his massive head to flick the lighter dinosaur mutant spinning into the air. The young kaiju landed with a earth cracking thud as he tried to collect himself and his breath. It was at that moment the Tyrannodaemon decided it would be a fun bit of irony to bite the ankylosaurus’s face off. He once again found himself recoiling in agony as he for some perplexing reason a good amount of his lower jaw had turned to been covered stone was becoming more petrified by the second. Apparently having to dig a bit deeper into his lung capacity had forced the young kaiju to access a part of his lungs that held an elemental energy that like the gorgons of old, could turn organic matter to stone. Coming out as an exhaled gas, the petrifying vapor had escaped the apprentice’s mouth as the wretchedly insane Tyrannosaur had clamped down on his head. Initially confused by the predator’s behavior, the young kaiju noticed that his labored breathing was having a concrete effect on the grass and again inspiration struck the armored mutant. Breathing as deeply as he could, the apprentice expelled a full, billowing cone of the gas and it froze the raging Tyrannodaemon in his tracks as his entire left leg began to also turn to stone. Anger gradually turned to fear as the Tyrannodaemon tried desperately to limp away but a final, brutal swing of the ankylosaurus’s mace shattered the petrified limp into dozens of pieces and the Tyrannodaemon fell to the ground roaring in agony. Satisfied that the culprit had been subdued, the apprentice waited as the viscous monster was sedated and taken to the massive hospital ward where most of his wounds would be treated and perhaps regenerated.

Father Fang had watched the spectacle from the monitors and upon seeing its conclusion was rubbing his hands together with an expression similar to a child on Christmas day. Cherubix simply rolled his eyes at the illogical gesture and wondered what the ‘little dinosaur that finally could’ was going to be doing now that Father Fang had finally seen what he was looking for. Father Fang came upon the half grown kaiju as he was being somewhat berated and somewhat applauded by the his cyboric mentor. Though apprentice was somewhat crestfallen for being reckless and acting on his own, his skill and quick thinking had saved five lives including his own and perhaps more. Father fang looked over the ankylosaurus as he gazed down at and per instructions from Invictathrone, bowed to him. Grinning in his usual confident fashion, Father Fang took note of the deepening black and bluish highlights that made their way through his armor and flesh and the reverent smoothness of his head along with his dedication and came upon a fitting name. From that day foreword the apprentice was now dubbed Monklyonyx and had earned his place as a full time guardian of Eden02.

The days that followed hummed with activity as the Genetics department unveiled the third successful Anima minor project and soon the ‘kaiju police officer’ had his own task force to aid him and Invictathrone in their patrols around the facility; the ever preaching and obnoxious Confessoroc occasionally reporting activity that needed attention in his usual eccentric fashion. The task force in question were similarly mutated ankylosaurses called monklasaurs in honor of their leader who imparted along with his mentor, the same lessons he had been taught. Under this combined effort, a code had been formed amongst the subjects and security was now a stable feature in every corner of the facility. Monklyonyx did not grow quite as big as Invictathrone but he was plenty large enough to ensure that even the most brutal subjects gave ground to him, especially when his mace began to idly swing above his head. Stoic and level headed, Monklyonyx’s abilities continued to evolve in interesting ways upon reaching adulthood and it was revealed through various training exercises and field tests that the energy of his petrifying breath didn’t just dwell in his lungs. Apparently he could cause dark obelisk like crystals to erupt with a swing of his mace or stomp of his foot and the various spikes on his body and mace could be shed to embed themselves in his enemy’s body. This was illustrated against a more controlled Tyrannodaemon pair when Monklyonyx flicked his mace foreword like a scorpion and sent a hail of black jagged spikes into their bodies, pinning them to the ground. His armor was of course his greatest asset as he could easily trade blows with his opponents and not feel a thing, an important thing when trying to subdue rather than kill. His belly and limbs hardly felt anything from missiles so it was deemed that if necessary he could ward off a ground assault or defend against an air to ground strike. Outbreaks became much fewer and when they did, Monklyonyx was there, along with his herd of trained monkladons, to apprehend them. Though slightly smaller in stature, Monklyonyx proved that size wasn’t so much a problem when you knew how to use it and various subjects and traitors learned that the hard way when they found themselves ran over, smashed, crushed, pulverized, head butted, and partially petrified. God forbid Monklyonyx actually find an opponent he feels he has to kill as they may end up adding to the various masonry projects around the facility.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Its 1:00 in the morning but I finished this guy's bio in order to get him uploaded. Monklyonyx is mr. 'armor dude' and the head security guard of Heavenly Fang. You see this guy roll'n you best be either hid'n or walk'n because if your tripp'n he's gonna break your ass. As a side note, petrification gas is similar to a gorgon's gaze from God of War. If you try really hard you can break it off but the longer it stays on the more flesh it turns to stone until your whole body is just one big statue waiting to get smashed. Of course thats providing you get it all over you. If it just touches a part of you then it will only effect that part. A little balancing issue there. His armor and spikes regnerate very quickly as opposed to his flesh so it allows his shrapnel like gem volleys to work without leaving him defenseless. So if the shards on his tail are flung, they grow back in a second later. I guess in avatar terms you could call him a 'stone/gem bender'. His underbelly is his weakness as expected but typically only against kaiju as most nations lack the firepower to actually injure that without obliterating half a continent at the same time. Having these kind of abilities naturally makes him immune to abilities of the same type so its not like he can be suffacated by swallowing his own gas or by being doused with someone else's petrification ray. As expected, energy weapons have a hard time doing anything to him as they get messed up by the gem, crystal and dense armor he has all over his body, kinda like Krystalak in way but not as extreme. Anyway, enjoy =).

Awesome....looks like an Ankylosaurus on steroids. Also, what does "Kaiju" mean?
